Escape to our 103-acre Excelsior property conveniently located on Lake Minnewashta southwest of the Twin Cities metro, a beautiful natural setting for group rentals, corporate retreats, weddings, and other special events. Groups may rent specific facilities or areas of camp or exclusive use of the property. All groups are welcome to our recreational activities, including volleyball net, soccer goals, gaga ball pits, sports equipment, and hiking trails. Camp Fire’s trained staff are also available to lead team-building, archery, rock climbing, snow shoeing or nature education, for your group for an additional fee (based on availability).

Pricing & Booking

Groups may book exclusive use of the property or choose specific areas/facilities to host your event. Rentals are unavailable June-August, due to summer camp season.

Rental is confirmed once the following are received by Camp Fire Minnesota:

  • Signed Contract
  • Certificate of Insurance
  • 50% Deposit
  • Damage Security Deposit (Community & Dining Center $1,000)

Facilities

Our facilities include a brand new Community & Dining Center, overnight lodging, and outdoor spaces. 15% cleaning & staffing service fee included.

Community & Dining Center

Our new Community & Dining Center opened June 2020 and features floor-to-ceiling windows to keep your group feeling close to nature. This space provides a flexible floor plan for seated or standing events and meetings, plus an open concept on the lower level. Indoors, groups enjoy a beautiful gas fireplace, WiFi, AV, and gender neutral restrooms. Step outside for nature hikes, or enjoy views to the south from the deck and views to the north on the patio with outdoor seating.

This space carries forward some special historic features from the previous camp dining hall – including the dining hall fireplace which is now the outdoor patio fireplace. The Center is heated and has ceiling fans plus windows to provide cooling during warmer days.

Elite Catering at Entourage Events Group is our preferred food vendor.

 

Capacity: 200 seated; 150 non-seated events

Overnight Lodging - Cabins and Yurt

All lodging includes access to onsite fire rings. Guests provide their own bedding.

  • 11 10-person rustic cabins (no heat or electricity)
  • Three 18-person rustic cabins (no heat or electricity)
  • Yurt (no heat or electricity)

Outdoor Spaces

With 103 acres, there are many areas to use for your unique event. Some of these include:

  • Tent camping
  • Green spaces (many areas)
  • Pavilion Shelters (6 within Gingko Circle) with picnic tables and a gathering area with custom-designed log seating around a fire ring

We are ACA accredited, which means we are held to a high standard of safety and quality. Team-building is based on availability. Camp Fire Minnesota staff lead all activities, including:

  • Archery
  • Team-Building Challenge Course
  • High Ropes Course and Climbing Wall
  • Canoe/Kayak
  • Nature/Environmental Education
