February 2023 – In 2022, we welcomed 10 new members to our Board of Directors and Foundation! We were overwhelmed with applicants interested in serving in these roles and selected these individuals for their passion to young people experiencing nature and advancing inclusion in the outdoors. We’re excited to have their voices and expertise alongside us as we dig into our 2023 goals.
Adriane Brown, Associate Professor and Director, Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies, Augsburg University
Adriane’s “why”: Years before joining the board, she and her wife chose Camp Fire as their son’s first overnight camp experience because it blended traditional summer camp vibes with a commitment to inclusive practices. Adriane credits that first overnight camp with developing her son’s environmentalism and his deep love of nature–and with his interest in eventually becoming a camp counselor!
