It is with great excitement that we introduce Kori Redepenning, Camp Fire Minnesota’s new President & CEO!
Kori’s career has been dedicated to youth development and lifting up youth voices.
She comes to Camp Fire from the Minnesota Alliance With Youth, where she currently serves as CEO.
Kori holds an MBA in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Northeastern University and was a 2015-2016 Policy Fellow at the Hubert Humphrey School of Public Affairs. Additionally, she was a 2019 participant in the American Express social sector leadership cohort through the Center for Creative Leadership. At Minnesota Alliance With Youth, Kori led a rich strategic planning process during the organization’s 20-year anniversary; enriched the organization’s culture by creating “leadership principles” to guide their work; passed a bill to ensure voice at the Capitol and drove for increased equity internally and externally. She is well-connected to diverse stakeholders and partners throughout Minnesota who care about youth development.
“I am thrilled to step into the role of President & CEO with Camp Fire Minnesota,” said Kori. “I share Camp Fire’s values and commitment to young people exploring nature and I’m eager to create new opportunities for their voices to directly impact our work and broaden community access to Camp Fire’s beautiful property.”
Kori and her wife live in St. Louis Park with their two young sons. She values the role that nature plays in the life of her family and treasures seeing her children experience the outdoors. Personally, Kori is an avid runner who enjoys exploring all of the running trails in the region. Travel, hiking, snow shoeing and paddle boarding are also some of her favorite pastimes. “I fully embrace all seasons of Minnesota!” she said.
The selection was made following a thorough executive search process led by board and staff members, and in partnership with Ballinger | Leafblad executive search firm. Positioned to expand outdoor and environmental education opportunities for youth and committed to furthering equity in the outdoors, Camp Fire sees Kori as exactly the visionary leader to guide the organization into its next chapter.
“We were struck by Kori’s history of commitment and passion for youth development, as well as her proven record for advancing equity within youth-serving organizations,” said Board Chair Loren Heeringa. “She brings a breadth of experience in strategy, fundraising and operational excellence in addition to visionary leadership and a personal passion for the value of nature-based learning in youth development.”
Kori will join Camp Fire on June 7, 2021.
