Rio’s Story
“Camp Fire has lit my spark with its various camp activities, leadership program, and diverse community. I also knew that I wanted to become a teacher, and through my experience at Camp Fire, I knew it was a definite ‘YES‘. It has helped me become more confident, understand the value of hard work, see the outcome of it, and make an impact on someone else. I have accomplished everything in the last 12 years because of this camp.”
Rio’s connection to Camp Fire runs deep, having grown from a camper to a counselor and now a dedicated board member. He shares, “Being on the board for Camp Fire means the world to me. I enjoy being part of the process of a new project, being part of fundraisers, and making sure that future campers of all backgrounds can experience the same opportunities that I was able to have. Camp Fire has played an important role in every milestone I have had. Since Camp Fire has done so much for me, it is only right that I give back to the place that brought me up and gave to me.”
