Campaign for Tanadoona: Phase One Closes, Exceeding $1.5 million Goal
Phase One of the Campaign for Tanadoona came to a close on December 31, 2014 raising more than $1.5 million, plus $300,000 in in-kind gifts and services to preserve and invest in the future of 90-year-old Tanadoona. The Master Plan for Tanadoona will be completed in phases; phase two plans will be announced in 2016.

The Great Tana-re-doona: Phase One Renovations
Phase One of the Campaign for Tanadoona is a $1.5 million investment to improve the Tanadoona experience. Phase one projects began with a much needed renovation of the camp’s bathhouse thanks to Life Time Fitness, plus building a yurt and new archery range. In 2014 a Groundbreaking Ceremony kicked off major construction, including the following.
A new front entrance welcomes campers and visitors to Tanadoona. Natural, indigenous landscaping around the gate is just the beginning of what will one day be a large grove of native Minnesota trees at the entrance.
Tanadoona's Day Camp Village, named Ginkgo Circle, features six brand new day camp cabins and a campfire ring to gather around. This provides day campers with the same community experience resident campers enjoy and helps prepare them to progress into resident camp.
Three new Bluebird (resident camp) cabins doubled the capacity of our older Bluebird cabins. These open-concept cabins give our campers a full view of the nature surrounding them and maintain the unplugged (electricity-free) summer camp experience.
Heart of Camp provides a comfortable space for all-camp games, songs, skits and gatherings for campers and groups.
A brand new Tree House is slated to be built in Fall 2016 offering campers more opportunities for activities in the Big Woods of Tanaodona.
